Geek Health: Superhero Workout

It is ridiculous how well built comic book heroines are: chiseled like rock while in a fight, but soft and feminine when there is no danger. Yes, they play out as the ultimate mix of strength and femininity, but is this a realistic goal to set for real humans to look like?

Heck no! Of course not, they are drawings people! But that’s not what this article is about. This article is about helping you develop a realistic superhero-inspired body with a few fun activities.

Warning: Do not attempt any of the following until you consult a doctor first and a specialist in the activity/sport. Be smart and be safe.

Agility like Cat Woman

Agility is about speed, balance, coordination, and flexibility. A few activities you can try to develop your own agility are:

Strength like She-Hulk

Strength doesn’t mean you have huge, bulky muscles; it means you have muscles that are strong and capable of working at peak efficiency. Strength training is your best bet. Make sure to be safe and consult a professional when starting any new routine—you don’t want to end up with an injury on your first day because of improper form. Here are a few exercises to get you started.

Endurance like Wonder Woman

Endurance is the difference between giving up after a running a block and completing a marathon. It’s not about speed, it’s about sustaining over a long period of time.

Try it out. Just remember, as normal human beings we need a lot of time to build up our skills. There are no radioactive spiders or ooze puddles around to help us achieve the results instantly.
